Masons Timber invests in
new machinery

F. W. Mason & Sons Ltd the Nottingham based Timber products manufacturer has made substantial investment in new machinery. This investment is the second stage of a major modernization programme started during 2003 when new automated production and handling equipment was installed.

Included in the list of new machinery purchased is a Barbaran Profile-Wrapping machine capable of wrapping foils, vinyl's and wood veneers on linear mouldings to customer's own designs or requirements. Also a new Weinig 1000 Powermat moulding machine, a high speed moulder capable of short runs with fast set up times.

David Mason Chairman and Managing Director says, ``This investment shows our commitment to the Trade. Our Special Profiles and Independent Retail market business have both shown good growth over the last 12 months, this additional investment will further the prompt attention given to specifically manufactured products and improve efficiency throughout the mills at Nottingham."

Masons have 21 planing and moulding machines and have the capabilities of manufacturing over 50,000 cubic metres of timber production of timber products on a single shift basis in a full year.
